AI is moving at the speed of light right now – and with the continuous investment in that space, it’s not going to slow down.
For the consumer though – it may be difficult to seperate signal from the noise.
It’s fine & normal to feel a bit overwhelmed when there’s a lot going on. There are a lot of players in this space right now – and there will be winners and there will be losers.
But for now – let’s just try and get shit done and use AI to do our best work.
My AI stack – 2nd August 2025
| General Purpose | Notes |
| Gemini (Pro) | – Comes included with my Google Workspace – Great for programming tasks – Deep Research is also highly recommended! |
| ChatGPT | – I currently use the free version – With Gemini Pro – I feel less included to use ChatGPT |
| FyxerAI | – Records & summarise meetings, categorise all my emails with labels (works with gmail + outlook) – I totally recommend it! – Has made me more productive |
| Manus | – Have used it a few times before – I like the UX – it shows the user the live research it’s doing – Gives us a sense of progress – Would use it if Gemini didn’t exist |
| Comet (Perplexity’s Browser) | – So far so good! – All the Chrome extensions I had work perfectly with Comet (Chromium compatibility I guess heh) – I like having an AI assistant in every tab so I don’t have to switch |
| Technical | |
| Cursor | – Think of it as a word processor for code with AI’s attached to it – I power it with Claude Sonnet 3.5 by Anthropic – You can also pick other models such as Gemini and other Claude models – This is a developer’s stable |
| v0 | – Made by Vercel – This is an end to end website prototyping and deployment tool. – In the world we live in where low cost experimentation and speed determines much of our success, v0 will set you apart – If you’ve got a SaaS idea – start here! |
| Mermaid | – Mermaid is a text-to-image diagramming tool, see here: https://mermaid.js.org/ – I’ve used AI to document software for me and get it to create a Mermaid diagram I can just put into a Markdown file in Github (see examples here) – 100% recommend this for anyone using AI to write and modify code! |
What I’m keen to try next:
• Claude Code
• Gemini Code
Stay tuned!
